Gloucester Co, VA
Warner Plantation was established in about 1657 by Augustine Warner. The original house burned, but was rebuilt more than 150 years ago. It has been recently renovated with great care and is now a Bed and Breakfast. Augustine Warnerís son and namesake married Mildred Reade, Nicolas Martiauís granddaughter. Mildredís daughter, another Mildred, married Lawrence Washington and they became grandparents of George Washington. The graveyard contains many family graves. The APVA needs $10,000 in assistance there with renovations and maintenance. If you care to make a contribution, checks may be made out and mailed to: The Joseph Bryan Branch of APVA, P. O. Box 335, Gloucester, VA 23061. Please note on the check that the funds are to go to the Warner Hall Graveyard only. ( THE NICOLAS MARTIAU DESCENDANT ASSOCIATION MAY 2004 NEWSLETTER, Volume X, No.1)
